Students must score at least Grade D in every subject to qualify to the next level of education. Previously about 1.4 lakhs students had scored CGPA 10 in their CBSE Board Result – Class 10th in 2017.

According to some media reports, it was reported that there can be some changes in the assessment model of Class 10th.

How To Calculate CGPA – Cumulative Grade Point Average

Although your CGPA will be already mentioned on the report card but it is still easy to calculate your CGPA on your own.

Follow the below method:

  1. Firstly add your grade points of the main 5 subjects.
  2. Then divide by 5

Those students who still didn’t get it can go through the example explained below:

For Example- Suppose your grade points of the main five subjects are:

  • Subject 1- 9
  • Subject 2- 8
  • Subject 3- 9
  • Subject 4- 10
  • Subject 5- 8

Step1: Add up the grade points (main 5 subjects)

9+8+9+10+8= 44

Step2: Divide the number by 5

44/ 5= 8.8

Hence, your CGPA is 8.8

How To Calculate Percentage From CGPA

Students who are interested in knowing their % can also calculate that by just converting the overall CGPA into the percentage.

To convert your overall CGPA into %, just multiply the total grade points by 9.5.

For Example- From the above case, the total CGPA was 8.8.

Multiply 8.8 by 9.5

8.8 x 9.5= 83.6%

Please Note- Student must know that although the report card contains the grades of both the classes i.e; Class 9th & 10th, only Class 10th grades are eventually used to calculate the CGPA.
